Grande Palace, Thailand

Temple of Gold
Me taking a Break

My Ear, and Sean

Sean Next to the Idols..

Us at the Grande Palace

Well ., here we are at the Grande Palace in Thailand. Cost of admission was 350 baht, more than I rembered from my first trip some 10 years back...Place looks more beatiful, and well kept. We wondered around the entire grounds..I think i saw more this time than last time. Wondering all over, taking pictures of almost everything imaginable. Tourist things are wonderful in deed. We walked into the temple, had to take our shoes off, glad i wore my good socks, didn't want any holes showing.hheheh.
Another nice kodak moment, saved for all time.

Floating Market

Us, and our Tour Guide
Market  Boats

Who needs a Hat?

Who is thirsty?

This was one of the things we did while we were in Bangkok, after a 2 hour drive we arrived at a pier, and then us, along with our tour guide took a 40 minute boat ride to get to this section of the rivers. Boats selling everything from fruiit to coke, spices, and what ever imaginable. Both sean and I had a great time, me i thought I would never get up again , but it wasn't as bad, as I thought, of course my yoga husband had no problems....

My Two Loves...

My two  loves...heheheh my Spicy whopper , and my husband..( ooo what no absolut on the table? )
We are sitting at burger king , at the capital airport just before we started our bangkok trip. Seans got his camera all ready , and of course I couldn't resist the chance to snap a pic of him.

Legends of Kung Fu, Red Theater Beijing

Well with only 5 days left in Beijing before I head off to my new posting in Shanghai, I have decided to see alittle bit more of the culture side of things. So with the recommendation of Sean we decided to go to the Legends of Kung Fu, Show at the Red theater. I am not much for the theater of late, but I could not pass up the chance to go and see something different. The theater, took on the name, Red theater as the entire front side of the theater is lit up in Red. The first impression was a nice one indeed. As  we progressed inwards, the theater insides revealed an older version of the Hollywood theaters that I had been in some 20years back. Once we maneuvered our way through the seats, and rows, we settled into our seats and were waiting comfortably center stage in the theater. The show began, to a half empty theater, maybe because of the cold, maybe because it was Sunday night, what ever the case the performance was nice, and it was a great way to spend 90 minutes of my day. If you get a chance, defiantly well worth the trip. Just check with your hotel's concierge teams, as they tend to have some tickets that they can offer you at a discounted price. of Course make sure you have a great partner with you so that the entire experince so even more enjoyable.

Our Trip To Phuket and Phi Phi Island, June 2010

Our first trip outside China, ( well Not mine ) but for Sean it was his first chance. So after we wheeled and dealed about a few scheduling details we were all set to depart. I was in America a week before , so when I came back we flew off the next day. Off we went to the airport, passed through the Customs, and soon we were sitting having a gin tonic in the airport bar. The Tereminal 3 of Beijing ariport is huge, so as we wondered around it was like being in a little city. After we checked our watches we started to head over to the gate. Soon the boarding time cam, and we scurred off to our seat, got all situated and comfortible. Sooner than we had taken off it was time to land in Bangkok, then a run through the airport to the other side of the Terminal and to Gate A5 Seemed like it was miles away. As I had been to the Bangkok terminal like a thousand times before I knew the way perfectly. So  we arrived the right gate we had time to spare. Sean was feeling antzy and excited, and I was happy that we could go on this trip. I had planned the entire trip with the best of accomidations and airport pick ups so that we had no problems at all. The first place we stayed was dewa Resort, and a pool villa, a nice reccomendation form my friend who used to live in phuket. So we spend a few night there, and could swim in our own little pool. Breakfast on the patio was pleasant, cappuccinos were great, and sean could eat all he wanted. We headed one day to the other side of the island for shopping and a stop at the holiday inn, light lunch at the hard rock cafe. Th next night we went to fantasia , Had a nice dinner and show, and even got picked up in a elepahant van. ( pink in color) . We headed to Phi phi island , first to the ferry, then a 2 hour ride, then stopped, transferrd to another boat nd headed to the resort. I had booked a villa on the mountain and by the look of seans eyes when we arrived he was quite happy. The villa had a view to die for and a largeer pool of our own. The 5 room villa was perfect for our trip, and the staff and facilities were of 1st class quality. We arranged tours to maya bay, and did the tour things, more and more i wanted sean to see the islands and what else there is in the world. The resort even though it rained one day was still lovely. A great time was had, with a great man indeed. Enjoy some of the pictures, as there were over  600 to much to post, but i think you get the idea of the beauty.

A Day at the Forbidden City

So We stood in the long line form hell to get our tickets, just like the tourists who come to visit the city by the hundreds. People pushing and shoving and trying to get in front of us, well with the refridgerator if front of them they had little chance to get by me. heheheehh ( for those of who who do not know who the refridgerator is, it refers to a famous foot ball player from america, he was so large they called him the refridgerator ) So when we finally got in past all the waving flags we like always flippeda coin and tried to figure out which way would be better to go. We went  left, then right, then left, then right, then down one alley and another. We wondered all around the city. I wanted sean to see the special treasure room, of the city, not sure if he ever had before so we went over into that direction and looked at all the treasures form the acient past. We walked form one end to the other, and we exitted out the other side of the city, and of course we walked back home, could not find a taxi at that time of day, as the place is filled with tourist and the like trying to get a taxi. Another great Day!~
